GTHL Removes Vaccine Mandate For 2022-23 Season
The Greater Toronto Hockey League announced today the removal of the COVID-19 Vaccination Policy (adopted on August 25, 2021) for participants registering for the 2022-23 season. The GTHL Board of Directors made the decision on April 14 after consulting with Public Health experts. The removal of the policy will be effective for the 2022-23 season, beginning with ‘AAA’ tryouts on April 25, 2022.

The GTHL’s Vaccination Policy will remain in effect for the duration of the 2021-22 season. For more information on the policy, visit the League’s Game Plan 2.0 framework. Masks will also remain a requirement for dressing rooms and coaches on the bench throughout 2022-23 tryouts occurring in April and May for all levels.

The GTHL will continue to consult with and consider guidance from medical and public health
professionals at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto as well as Toronto Public Health. The
GTHL’s policies and procedures, specifically regarding COVID-19, exist within the greater
communities of Markham, Mississauga, Toronto, and Vaughan. If restrictions are later imposed
by government, public health unit(s), facilities, and/or municipalities, the GTHL will be required
to revisit pandemic specific policies.

The GTHL will continue to follow the direction of all provincial government, public health,
municipal, and facility policies to ensure a safe and fun environment for all players, families,
coaches, officials, volunteers, and staff.
