The Minor Bantam Rebels had a great tournament in London this past weekend. the team won their first 5 games before falling in the finals 4-1 to a strong East York Bulldog team.

The Rebels started the tournament by stunning the Tier 1 George Bell Titans with a late shorthanded goal to hold on for a 1-0 win. the titans had 28 shots in the third period and 49 for the game but the Rebels emerged victoriously. In the second game, Thornhill put up another shutout as they defeated Forest Hill 3-0.

In the next game, Rebels trailed the Erindale Spitfires 2-1 in the third period before two quick goals gave them a 3-2 win. In the final round robin game, the Rebels were scoreless late into the third period before a clutch goal gave Thornhill the 1-0 win over the Ajax Knights.

The semifinal game pitted the Rebels against the Wets Hill golden Hawks. The Hawks led 1-0 with 9 minutes to go in the game before the Rebels tallied two shorthanded goals during the same penalty! Thornhill added two empty-net goals for a 4-1 win.

In the finals, the Rebels gave it their all but came up a bit short. Overall it was a fantastic weekend of camaraderie and hockey.
