Dear TCHL Members:

The continual interest in our league, expressed by both members and prospective members is indicative of our purpose in the community.

Since 1960, we have been offering hockey programming to children and youth in our community. We have personally witnessed the benefits of hockey in myriad ways, which include increases in physical, emotional and mental states. Our hockey programming is a wonderful outlet to incorporate fun physical activity into the lives of our members, helps to teach teamwork skills and build character, which is what we continue to do now and in future years to come.

Developing these life skills on the ice is what we strive to do as “we’re all about the kids”.

Since the release of the articles last summer, which alluded to the allocation of ice time impacting our league, I have actively been in close contact with Valerie Burke,Councillor, Ward One Thornhill City of Markham and Mary Creighton, Director of Recreation Services Community and Fire Services City of Markham in regards to the ice allocations.

The new ice allocation process may affect the Thornhill Community Hockey League slightly.

Should the new ice allocation process be passed, the Thornhill Community Hockey League has made provisions that will not interrupt the great hockey programs we offer.

The Thornhill Community Hockey League isn’t going anywhere. We are here to stay.

For any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach me directly at 905-764-7640 or president@tchl.org.

Thank you very much.

Sincerely,

Julian Herzberg
President
Thornhill Community Hockey League
